Compensation plate - patented |
No more patching for corrugated board ?
|
|
Traditional die - example : at pressure 80 tons the first knife starts to cut

Traditional way of working with patching : you highten the knifes that do not cut with the patching
Pressure 100 tons and patching of the knifes that did not cut at 80 tons.
Result : 100 % of teh knifes are cutting but the knifes that already cutted at 80 tons are damaged !

Even after 1100 sheets with normal patching the knifes are already damaged

Way of working with compensation plate :
The compensation sheet (patented) is put between the die (new) and the chase plate (the back part of the knifes is in contact with the compensation plate)
The compensation sheet has enough resistance to the pressure so that a new knife in good condition cuts the carton.
Increasing the pressure step by step, the knifes that cutted first enter a little bit in the compensation sheet untill all the knifes cut well.
In this way a die that is new will practically stay new : the knifes enter in the compensation sheet instead of crushing themselves on the diecutting plate
Advantages :
- no more need for patching(or minimal)
- less problems of angel hair
- less machine stops for a knife that does not cut anymore
- much longer life of the die
- shorter set-up times
- a minimal ware of the diecutting plate
- no more ware of the chase plate
- easy change-over of dies between different machines
- a guarantee for the quality of the cutting
Conditions :
- only use the sheet with new dies - that will stay practically new: on already used dies without the compensation sheet you will always have knifes that are worn out and in this way they will completely cut through the compensation sheet when you add pressure
- chase plate and diecutting plate in good condition
